More About Counselling

You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally drained, or not quite yourself — carrying more than you can comfortably hold. Maybe you’ve noticed your confidence has dipped, old coping strategies aren’t helping, or you’re struggling to make sense of difficult thoughts, emotions, or changes in your life.

People come to counselling for many reasons, including:

  • anxiety, worry, or emotional overwhelm

  • burnout or exhaustion

  • relationship or family stress

  • identity shifts and life transitions

  • low confidence or self-worth

  • feeling stuck, lost, or disconnected from who they used to be

  • school anxiety, stress, or disengagement (for teens)

Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

A calm, supportive space to make sense of your inner world

Counselling provides a reflective, emotionally safe space to explore what’s happening beneath the surface — not just the symptoms you’re noticing on the outside. Together, we approach your thoughts, feelings, and patterns with curiosity rather than self-criticism, helping you understand yourself with greater clarity and compassion.

My style is grounded, steady, and emotionally attuned. I walk alongside you, helping you slow down, breathe, reflect, and reconnect with what you need.

My Integrative Approach

I work from an integrative approach, drawing on several evidence-informed therapies so our sessions can meet you—your personality, your pace, and your unique experiences. No two people are the same, and no single method fits everyone. Instead, I tailor our work to support you gently and effectively.

Person-centred (the foundation of my work)

Everything begins with relationship — warmth, compassion, and genuine understanding.

You are met with acceptance and respect, with no judgment or pressure. I aim to understand your inner world from your perspective, creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported. Real change happens when you feel understood and able to be yourself.

Emotion-focused principles

We explore the emotional patterns and protective strategies that sit beneath your thoughts and behaviours - helping you understand your inner experience with more clarity and compassion.

Solution-focused and strengths-based strategies

We gently identify what’s already working and build on your strengths, supporting small steps forward that feel grounded, achievable, and meaningful.

Cognitive–behavioural insights (CBT)

Where helpful, we look at how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact, and explore ways to soften unhelpful patterns.

Reflective and insight-oriented practices

Many people find that understanding why they feel the way they do is deeply relieving. Together, we use reflection to create insight, self-understanding, and emotional steadiness.

This integrative style is collaborative and flexible. Some sessions may feel reflective and exploratory; others may feel more practical and grounded. We move at the pace that feels right for you.

Who I work with

  • Adults navigating stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship issues, overwhelm, identity shifts, misalignment, or emotional load

  • Teens (16+) managing school anxiety, stress, family difficulties, disengagement, or uncertainty about the future. (My experience in school counselling allows me to build strong rapport with young people who may be anxious, disengaged, or unsure of themselves.)

What does counselling cost?
